As the saying goes, your car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Nevertheless you still want to get the highest amount that you can for your used car. So the trick here is to determine how to make your car more attractive to buyers and to  know the baseline amount that cars similar to yours are selling for in your local market. The best place to start your search for tips and car values is Kellys Blue Book for cars.

Kellys Blue Book for cars is a renowned automotive industry standard car appraisal guide that provides step by step guides that will help you sell your car but also gives you the "Private Party" value of your car. And the Blue Book for cars is easy to use. At the Kellys Blue Book website click the tab for used cars, then under  KBB Values type in your car's year, make and model or simply choose the specified data from the drop down menu that appears once you click the down arrow beside the required data box. Two Super Activities to Teach Your Kids the Books of the Bible

Do you and your kids know all 66 books of the Bible? If not here are two super fun activities that will have your kids reciting the names of God's great books over and over again. Just follow the directions and have fun!

Memorizing the Books of the Bible Activity #1:

Unscramble It!

Two Super Activities to Teach Your Kids the Books of the Bible

For this activity you will need envelopes that contain the letters of any book in the Bible. Scramble the letters up. Divide your class into 2 teams. Give an envelope to a child on the first team and tell him that on the word "Go" he must unscramble the letters to write out a book of the Bible. Tell him that if he can unscramble the book within 30 seconds, he will earn 100 points for his team. (You can make the amount of time longer or shorter depending on your class.) As a challenge, you could give both teams an envelope that contains the same book. The first team to unscramble and find it in the Bible wins 100 points.

Memorizing the Books of the Bible Activity #2:

Bible Book Jump Rope

For this activity you will need a jump rope and 2 turners. Have a child from one team come forward. You will give him a book from the Bible. They must say the next 10 books that follow. If they are successful, they get 100 points for their team. Now the child gets to jump rope 10 times. For each successful jump up to 10, they get 10 extra points for their team. So, if the child jumped 8 times without stopping, he will earn 80 extra points.

Here's a tip: If you give the child a book from the Bible towards the end such as First John, he should just say the next 10 books by "wrapping" around to the beginning of the Bible. For example, the next 10 books after First John would be Second John, Third John, Jude, Revelation, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and Joshua.

5 Great Games to Teach Your Kids the Books of the Bible

I believe one of the main goals of every Sunday School teacher should be is that their class knows all the books of the Bible by heart. If we want our kids to grow up being scholars of God's Word, they need to know where every book is and have an idea of its main characters. Here are 5 fun games you can play to get your kids on the road to better knowing the greatest book of all time.

To Play:

You will need to make a set of "Bible Book Cards". You can easily do this on your computer with some colorful graphics or you can simply print the names of all the books of the Bible on some index cards. Some of the games use points. So, on the backs of the cards, in random order, you will want to print point values of 100 to 500. Kids REALLY like earning points for their teams. Finally, I suggest you laminate all the cards for long-term use.

5 Great Games

1. OT/NT Sort - Simply get 2 boxes and label one "Old Testament" and the other "New Testament". Grab 10 or so of the Bible Book Cards and set a timer to 30 seconds. When you say, "Go", give a child the opportunity to correctly sort the cards in their appropriate boxes. For every one he got correct, tally up the points for his team. As the children learn their books better, you will be able to give them more cards to sort.

2. Order Up! - Grab a clothesline and some clothespins. Give a child a set of Bible Book Cards that you would like him to put in order. You might want to limit it to 5 cards to begin with until he gets to know the Bible. For this game the points are tallied only on the cards that were placed out of order. The team with the least points wins. You might consider setting a time limit on this game as well.

3. Grab and Find - Grab a bucket and put in some Bible Book Cards. Have a child come up and pull out a card. Give him 15 seconds to find the book in the Bible. If he is successful, he gets the points on the card for his team.

4. Name a Character - This is played the same as #3 above, but instead of finding the book in the Bible, the child must say one main character that is in the book that he chose.

5. Guess the Book - Lay out 5 Bible Book Cards on a table. Read a Bible verse from one of the books and give a child the chance to guess which book on the table it comes from. Reward the points on the back of the card if the guess was correct. Keep reading verses for the other cards until there are 2 left. Lay out more cards to make it harder.

If points are involved in a game, I usually have a child from the class come forward and be my scorekeeper. Have fun!

Want to write a book? You can. You start writing, and you keep going. At around 80,000 words, you've got yourself a book. Now what? You sell the book to a major publisher, hit the bestseller lists, and order your new cherry-red Ferrari.

That's how writing a book and getting published works. But if you try to follow that process - just sit down and start typing - the chances that you'll sell the book are slim. To sell your book you need to know the kind of book you're writing before you start, and also whether there's an audience for that kind of book. Most new authors start on their book writing and publishing adventure by reading a book and getting inspired. They don't think about the kind of book they're writing, or who would want to read it.

There are basically two kinds of books: truth and lies, otherwise known as nonfiction and fiction (novels). Some hundred thousand books are published in English each year, both nonfiction and novels. You must know what kind of book you're writing before you start.

Let's imagine that you've read a Harry Potter novel, and you're so enthusiastic that you're inspired to write your own children's novel. The words pour out of you; you're on fire. You write and write and write, and the pages pile up on your computer's hard drive.

This is great. While you're writing, ask yourself: "In a bookstore, where would this book of mine be shelved?"

If you're not sure, go to a bookstore and wander around the shelves. Is your book in the nonfiction section? In the children's section? In the romance novel or mystery section?

If you're inspired by Harry Potter, you know you're writing a children's novel. Imagine your book on the shelves, right beside the rows of Harry Potters.

This isn't an idle exercise, or a fantasy. You must know what you're writing, so please visit that bookstore. "What is it?" is the first thing an agent will want to know when you contact her to represent your book. It's also the first thing an editor at a publishing house will want to know.

So, what are you writing? If you don't know, or aren't sure, think about it and visit a bookstore if you need to. You can write a book and get published if you know what you're writing, and who will want to read it.

Chess Rules for Kids and Beginners

If you or your kids want to learn chess rules so that you can start to play one of the greatest games ever invented, you may be intimidated if you try to read a book or manual of instructions. There are many so many different strategies in chess that you may be overwhelmed. Really all you need to know to get started are the chess rules basics. Once you learn how to set up the board, how to move the pieces and what the object of the game is, you can start to play. Here are some chess rules to get you started:

1. The chess board: The board has 8 rows of 8 squares which alternate between black and white (or light and dark) colored squares. To begin according to chess rules, the pieces are in two rows right in front of each player on opposite sides of the board.

2. The pieces: pieces are called "white" or "black" because of traditional chess rules, but they can be any color. Each player has 8 pawns, 2 rooks (castles), 2 knights (horses), 2 bishops, 1 queen and 1 king. The pawns are in the front row and the rooks, knights, bishops, and the king and queen are on the back row.

3. How the pieces move in chess rules:
Pawns: They can move straight forward two squares for their first move and forward one square every time after that. If they are going to "capture" the other player's piece they can move forward diagonally one square to the left or right.

Rooks: They can move straight forward, backwards or sideways, but they cannot jump over a piece.

Knights: One of the trickier chess rules is how the knights move. They can move two spaces forward and one space to the left or right-kind of like an L.

Bishops: The bishops can move diagonally across the board but they cannot jump pieces.

Queen: The queen can move forward, backwards, or side to side, but she cannot jump any pieces.

King: The king can move one space in any direction: forward, backwards, side to side or diagonally.

The object of the game is to protect your own king and to capture the other player's king. You will also want to capture as many of the other player's pieces as possible. Once you learn and understand the basic rules, you can learn the harder strategies and rules.

Symptoms Of Mild Autism

Autism is a type of brain disorder that starts shaping up in early childhood and runs through the entire lifetime of an individual. Symptoms of mild autism are normally associated with another neurobiological disorder known as Asperger's Syndrome. A child may not normally show any signs of autism until reaching the age of 3 years and it is only past that age that the parents may start observing symptoms of mild autism. The Importance of Literature For Children

In society today, it is not unusual for some children to never pick up a book to read unless they are assigned to do so in school. Even when that is done, some children too often resent the act of reading and even see it as a punishment. The television set and video game consoles have become babysitters in many households and there is little motivation for a child to open a book and put his or her imagination to work.

The love of reading is something that should be instilled in children from a very young age. Even very small children can appreciate the images and the tales that go along with picture books. These very basic books can be a connection between parent and child that can open up lines of communication and encourage thinking skills in the youngster. Rather than being spoon fed flashing images and loud sound bites, the young child learns to use his own imagination and make connections with the world around him.

Children who are exposed to literature can also learn to relate to situations in the stories they read. Many books written for very young children are based on common themes that affect most children. These might include basic manners, getting along with others or even subjects like being afraid of the dark. It is easy for some parents to forget that their little ones are not miniature adults and that they have questions and concerns about many things their parents may never think of addressing. Books can bring light to these unspoken fears. Sharing a book with your child can also be a wonderfully joyful experience.
